Kamaal R Khan arrested for firing at residential building in Mumbai, case registered under Arms Act


Kamaal R Khan (KRK), widely recognized for his outspoken criticism of Bollywood films and personalities on social mediahas been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in the western suburbs of Mumbai, according to PTI. The actor was arrested on Saturday after investigators linked him to a shooting at a residential complex in Oshiwara area of ​​Andheri. He was taken to the Oshiwara police station on Friday night for questioning, during which he was admitted to firing two bullets from his licensed firearm. Police officials stated that a case has been registered against Khan under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act.

The incident reportedly occurred on January 18 at the Nalanda Society in Oshiwara, where two bullets were fired. During the investigation, authorities recovered two bullets inside the company’s premises, one from the second floor and another from the fourth floor. Police said one of the affected apartments is owned by a writer and director, while the other belongs to a model. The initial investigation did not yield results, as images from security cameras in the area did not provide clear clues. However, subsequent forensic examination suggested that the bullets could have come from the KRK bungalow located nearby. Officially he added that the reason for the dismissal remains under investigation.

This is not the first time KRK has been embroiled in legal controversies. In August 2022, he was arrested at the Mumbai International Airport for allegedly derogatory posts on social media and was subsequently taken into judicial custody. He was also arrested in connection with a sexual abuse case registered in 2021.in which he was later granted bail.

KRK first rose to fame after his appearance in the third season of Bigg Boss in 2009 and his film Deshdrohi. He later made a cameo in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain in 2014. In recent years, he has been known primarily as a self-proclaimed film critic, where his personal comments on industry figures have frequently sparked negative public reactions and legal scrutiny.
